To store prepared royal icing, place royal icing into pail, be sure to wipe the sides of the pail clean. Add a layer of plastic wrap directly onto royal icing to prevent the icing from drying out. Use lid to seal and store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Prepared royal icing can be stored one week at room temperature or frozen for up to 2 months.
